What is this site all about?

Hi! I’m Wendy and I started Crooked Crow Sisters several years ago as a little side business to indulge some of my favorite hobbies and make a little spending money along the way. I chose the name because my sister and I decided we were like crows, who had a propensity to collect bright shiny objects.

My shiny objects have been fabric, beads, threads, yarn, sewing machines, looms, spinning wheels, pretty rocks, and lots of hobbies! I think I’d make a good crow except for being able to fly with a sewing machine. Along my “collection journey” I have many “sisters” I have met through my life that have shared my crow-like ways.

Now, my stash of bright, shiny objects is overflowing. And the only thing I love more than playing with my crow hoard is to share what I know and enable others to be a beautiful crow of their own.

I have often called myself a Jack of All Trades, Master of None. But after years of teaching and creating in my various interests, I think I am more appropriately a Crow Master. Others say I am flat out an enabler, showing others my bright shiny objects and making them want to gather them too. So, I am going to own all of that!

What I hope to accomplish with this website is to share my knowledge, encourage you to try new things, and embrace your love of all your bright shiny objects. I have classes listed that I can teach at local quilt shops or guilds. Sometimes, I’ll have some objects to sell and sometimes, just objects to show or share. I’ll have tutorials and blogs as well.
