Applique Classes
Applique: Sewing a Picture
This 30 minute lecture and trunk show delves into the many techniques available to beautiful applique work, from hand to machine.
Free to guilds who book an applique workshop.
Hand Applique: From Agh to Aah!
This one-day workshop covers needle turn hand applique technique. Tips and tricks are presented to make the experience easy, rewarding, fun and incredibly portable!
Price: $40 per person
Kits may be provided by the store or the instructor.
Free Motion Quilting Classes
Beginning Free Motion Quilting
This one-day workshop presents the fundamentals of free motion quilting using a domestic or sit-down long arm machine. Sewists should come away with an understanding of correct tension, how to get a consistent stitch length, and correct technique for moving your quilt while stitching.
Prerequisites: Sewists must have a knowledge of sewing and/or peicing. While this is a beginner free motion class, it is not a class for beginner sewists or quilters.
Machines: Any machine that can lower feed dogs can be used. Machine must be in good working order.
Price: $40 per person
Free Motion Quilting with Grids
This one-day workshop presents a wealth of motifs to be used as background fills using a grid structure. This type of quilting can look wonderful behind applique.
Prerequisites: Beginning Free Motion Quilting
Machines: Any machine that can lower feed dogs can be used. Machine must be in good working order.
Price: $40 per person
Beginning Pattern Reading and Garment Making
This two-day workshop teaches how to read and understand garment pattern instructions and markings. Participants will take their measurements to learn to choose the appropriate size. A simple garment pattern with elastic waist pants, simple tunic and easy jacket will be used to teach fundamental garment construction techniques.
Prerequisites: Students must have a basic knowledge of machine sewing.
Machines: Any machine can be used. Machine must be in good working order.

Intermediate Free Motion Quilting: Fill Motifs
This one-day workshop presents a wealth of motifs to be used as background fills, all-over motifs, or micro fills. These fills are the building blocks for mastering free motion quilting and for designing the quilting for your quilts.
Prerequisites: Beginning Free Motion Quilting
Machines: Any machine that can lower feed dogs can be used. Machine must be in good working order.

Free Motion Quilting: Borders
This one-day workshop teaches unique free motion strategies for quilt borders. this class will be a mix of design work along with quilting.
Prerequisites: Beginning Free Motion Quilting or previous experience with free motion quilting, including ruler work. This class is geared toward the intermediate or advanced free motion student.
Machines: Any machine that can lower feed dogs can be used. Machine must be in good working order.

Hand Applique Using the Appliquick Method
This one-day workshop shows you how to use the Appliquick tools to make easy and perfect applique. Want perfect circles? Identical, multiple intricate shapes? The Appliquick method is for you!
Price: $40 per person

Using a Panel to Learn Free Motion Quilting Motifs
This one-day workshop teaches you free motion motifs guided by a panel of your choice. Panels are a wonderful tool to practice free motion quilting. The panel can guide your choice of motifs and give you guidelines for where to use them. Then use your new knowledge and repertoire of fills to master free motion quilting and design the quilting for your quilts.
Prerequisites: Beginning Free Motion Quilting
Machines: Any machine that can lower feed dogs can be used. Machine must be in good working order.
Kit: Kits can be chosen by the shop or students can use a panel of their choice which has an organic theme.

Free Motion Quilting with Rulers
Garment Classes
Bella Quilt Coat from By Annie Patterns and Quilting Elissa
This three-day workshop teaches how to construct the new Bella Quilt Coat using the new pattern designed by Quilting Elissa and produced by By Annie. Come learn to make this amazing coat using applique and foundation paper piecing to enhance the stylish jacket.
Prerequisites: Students must have a basic knowledge of machine sewing, basic garment construction, and basic quilt piecing.
Machines: Any machine can be used. Machine must be in good working order.

This one-day workshop teaches you how to use rulers with free motion quilting. Types of quilting rulers will be discussed, including what to look for when you buy.
Prerequisites: Beginning Free Motion Quilting or previous experience with free motion quilting. This class is geared toward the intermediate or advanced free motion student
